*sometimes you just need to love.*

the great weekend trip...

so i left up that angry angry depressed entry and went away to VA for 4 days. sorry ya'll.

the trip was excellent as usual. we left bright and early [6 am] on friday and promptly drove around the zanesville area for 2 hours trying to get to the interstate [every road was flooded], running errands [the mechanic & the bank] and getting breakfast. we didnt actually get on the road and LEAVE until sometime after 8, but whatever. i slept or listened to my ipod most of the way there, and we showed up at cousin tanya's house just before 5 pm. cousin brian offered to pick me up tampons at the store on the way home [cause hes such a gentleman] but i settled for him bringing home a case of yuengling instead. hahaha.

when he got home around 6 we sat down to a yummy dinner of chicken enhilada's and beer. there was much beer consumption after dinner also. we basically sat around talking/laughing/catching up while drinking and half watching the TV.

saturday saw us up too early for me, again, and all of us [minus cousin brian because he had to go to work] piling in the jeep and taking the 2 hour drive down to raleigh for some outdoor flea market in the FREEZING COLD. i think my toes got frostbite. then again, perhaps i shouldnt have been wearing flip-flops. hahahaha. i scored 5 CD's for $20 and a new book for $7. not a terrible day at the flea market, but id have rather been with cousin brian at work [aka playing laser tag with his new marine recruits!]. left the flea market in the afternoon and hit up the brand new North Hills in raleigh. had some fantastic BBQ at The Q Shack, and went to Target where i bought a ridiculous amount of stuff for $30. hahahaha. got back to the house a little after 6 with another case of beer and walked into a house smelling awfully yummy 'cause cousin brian fixed us all homemade italian dinner. YUM. had some more beers with dinner and after. and spent most of the evening at the dinner table playing cards and getting drunk. and laughing hysterically.

sunday came too early, of course, and the whole fam packed back into the jeep to drive to williamsburg to see the "sights". ie taking a car ferry across the james and then wandering around a bunch of crappy shops while cousin brian and i tried to do some geocaches. we only ended up doing one, but whatever. we headed downtown for lunch at Friendlys [!!!] and ended up spending nearly 2 hours in there! it took forever. i was so pissed. i dont think ive ever spent more than 45 minutes in a Friendlys. but whatever. thats for another rant some time. then we headed down to some HUGE antique store where i found like 42324239641725672635874378535743 things i wanted. hahahahaha. ah well. after spending a good 3 hours in the place we headed home to a dinner of deer chili [i had mac & cheese-big surprise!]. we invited over cousin brians BFF, Lane, and his GF and kid, doodlebug. i ADORE that kid and i swear to god he has got the be the fattest little baby boy ever. i wanted to keep him. how scary is that? considering i dont much enjoy kids. ha. visited with them, watched my football game, and drank some more beers, big surprise. promptly passed out around 11 so i could wake up in the morning for the drive home.

left tanya and brians place in richmond a little after 7 on monday morning. stopped at ihop for breakfast [pretty good!] and then i promptly feel asleep in the back again. hahahaha. ended up sleeping for about 3 more hours until we stopped for lunch. had lunch at BK, my fave, and then i drove for about 2 hours from lower WV just past marietta, OH. got home just after 6 but should have been home about an hour earlier. all the roads around here were still flooded [we didnt know] so we had to take a bunch of detours. it was frustrating.

but we're home now. and it was a great trip. cant wait till the end of february when cousins tanya & brian come for a visit!
