*sometimes you just need to love.*

the union

okie. so i had one of the best nites last nite. i went out with my friend, The Non-Blonde, and her roommate. we left about 6 pm and first we went to palmerfest. its this huge block party on plamer street that they have every year. they were having a bunch of bands playing all day long, and one of them was they band that i absolutely love, red wanting blue. they were supposed to play at 6:30, so we got there a little before that and this other band, ordinary peoples, was playing. they were actually pretty good. it was kinda like rasta-feel-good music. well they ended up playing till 7 and then red wanting blue didnt get on stage till 7:30. but the show was so good!!! and free!! i love seeing them play live and i go to every show around here. near the end of their show, they did their cover of "ice, ice baby" and all the guys around us suddenly went crazy. they were all drunk off their asses, and they started slam danicng and trying to crowd surf. ugh. i got a ton of beer spilled on me and i got crushed about a million times. i coulda dealt without that for sure. so instead of staying around to see O.A.R. play, we decided to go uptown and chill out for awhile.

it was a little after 9 then, so we went to BK and got frozen cokes and then we went over to the courthouse and sat on the steps and watched all the drunk people from palmerfest walk by. oh, they were so funny. one guy stopped right in front of us grabbed his girlfriend and said to us "hey, hey, what would you guys do if i did this?" and then proceeded to start humping his girlfriends leg. she was so embarrassed. i thought she was going to kill him. it was hysterical! well we sat there talking and watching people till about 11. then i went to get some more cloves and me and The Non-Blonde said goodbye to her roommate. turns out her roommate doesnt like bars, so she wasnt going to see the other show with us.

then we went across the street to The Union which is the bar we were going to see the other show at. and that show was free too! there were like 4 or 5 bands playing there that nite, but we only got to see the last 3 play. i dont even know what the name of the first band was, i think maybe Deal, but it doesnt really matter. they were okie. i only liked 1 or 2 of their songs. then after them, this band called Namesake played. and they rocked! they were good and the lead singer was kinda hot too. unfortunately it was their last show ever. the last band we saw, Jet Lucas, was definitely the best band. they were totally rocking and just so amazing. it was their last show too. everyone their was like punked out and dancing and just having a great time. it was so cool. i cant wait to go back. everyone there was just so what im looking for right now. just such a good time. i cant even explain it. one of the best nites ive had in a long long long time. im so glad i went.
